I’ve had the idea for this blog post for over a year, but for some reason I just never got around to putting it together. So in the spirit of posting more informative content in 2018 I finally sat down and picked my favorite lipstick trends you have to try this Winter along with photos so you can see exactly how wearable each of these trends are!
I’m actually surprised how many of my readers and even friends are so against lipstick. Obviously I don’t get the aversion to it, but I’m hoping this post will show you how fun lipstick can be, and how easy it is to switching up your whole look by changing your lipstick.
There are a ton of Winter 2018 beauty trends, but every season I’ve found that lipstick is the most wearable. I’ve narrowed it down to my 5 favorite lipstick trends you have to try this Winter and you’ll have to let me know if they’re your favorite too and which one you’re most likely to try!
Glass nude lips is by far the easiest winter lipstick trend to try since I’m sure it’s one you’re already wearing. Super glossy, shiny lips technically may have never gone out of style, but glass like lips have become way more on trend with the popularity of lip oils rising. I’m not a fan of lip gloss, but I’m totally on board with lip oil and I think oil creates a way glossier finish anyway! The lip oil I used for this look has flecks of shimmer in it too!

This light berry shade is not only one of my favorite trends for Winter, but one of my favorite lipsticks of all time. It’s just the right amount of color for any occasion and a great way to introduce a “berry” color to your makeup routine if you’ve shied away from bold colors in the past. This pretty shade can go from work to drinks and anywhere in between!

If you’re looking for a striking new look then I would definitely give this super matte, bright red lipped look a try! It’s definitely bold, but the matte finish makes it way more wearable to me then a super glossy finish that I might reserve for nighttime or a party.
Dark lipstick may not be a new lipstick trend for 2018, but this year I’m seeing a lot more metallic deep shades on the market. Some people might be scared by the thought of dark lipstick and metallic lipstick, and absolutely terrified of the thought of dark metallic lipstick, but I’m hoping that after seeing how wearable this L’Oreal shade is some of you will give it a try!

This shade of cherry wine lipstick has been a Winter go-to of mine for years and will always be on trend! Whether you decide to pair it with bare faced glowing skin, sleek cat liner or a vampy black smoky look this shade of lipstick is here to stay.
So which of these Winter 2018 Lipstick trends are you most likely to try? Of course I’ll be wearing all 5 of these all season! Winter in NY is long and these fun shades will definitely make my (and hopefully your) day a little brighter!
