Yes, I’m STILL talking about Charleston, basically because after ALL of my million Instagram photos and couple blog posts I hope that I persuade you to book a trip there because it was just THAT amazing. No, I’m not getting paid to say this, I honestly just really loved the city so much! Last week I shared my First Timer’s Guide to Charleston and the reason why Megan and I spontaneously booked this trip and today I’m sharing what to wear in Charleston with links to shop all of my outfits!
Spring in Charleston is a little temperamental! A few days before we left I checked the weather and it was actually cold (by Charleston standards aka mid 50s and rainy), but it looked as though the weather was going to clear up by the time we arrived and it absolutely did. We were blessed with PERFECT Spring weather in the 70s during the day and high 60s at night, barely any humidity (other than one day after it rained). Our tour guide during our carriage ride told us a really funny saying about Charleston weather, “Charleston has 2 seasons…SUMMER and NOT SUMMER”. We were lucky enough to visit during that “not Summer” season and it was just perfect! I can’t recommend visiting Charleston in the Spring any more!
Now back to the important stuff…what to wear in Charleston! You know I’m ALL about dressing for the occasion, or in this case dressing for the location, and a trip to one of the most colorful places in the United States called for a colorful wardrobe! Of course I panicked that I had “nothing to wear” the night before we left and I went shopping to pick up a few Charleston approved items that were perfect for everything we did while we were there!
All of my outfits obviously included one colorful, printed piece that I styled with a neutral pair of sandals, a straw bag (a MUST for Spring and Summer travel in my book because they go with EVERYTHING!) and my trusty denim jacket if it was on the cooler side! Everything I wore was light, breezy and extremely comfortable! When you’re walking almost 10 miles a day it’s a must so keep that in mind while you’re packing!
