My January 2017 Round Up is a little bit on the lighter side because of an extended Christmas vacation and the new blog design taking a little longer than planned, but I promise come February I’ll be back in the swing of things! This month’s blog content was clearly fueled by coffee, hot chocolate and sugary breakfast foods…I promise I’ll try to change things up a little next month…but I can’t promise anything considering it’s Valentine’s Day and lots of chocolate will be consumed!

The new blog has been live for 2 weeks now, so what do you guys think? This was a long time coming and I’m so happy with how it turned out. Thank you so much for bearing with me while I tweaked and added some sections, but overall it’s pretty much complete!
What do you think about the new top menu? I really wanted to make it as easy as possible for all my readers to navigate my content and find what they’re looking for quickly and easily. I especially love the different shop sections I’ve added to the drop down menu on the top bar and the widgets I’ve added to the right column. If been trying to post more consistently on Instagram stories and I get a lot of questions about the items I feature on there so I wanted to make it easy for you guys to shop everything you see!
Touching on what I mentioned above about my January 2017 Round Up being on the lighter side, yes it mostly had to do with the fact that I was on vacation and waiting for the new site to go live, but it also has to do with the complete crap that Instagram has become over the past few months. Even since the algorithm change my engagement has gone down drastically and I’m losing followers like crazy and I’m not quite sure what to do about it. It’s pretty discouraging to spend so much time planning content on what is suppose to be one of the most important social media channels for barely anyone to see it. I can’t stand the follow/unfollow nonsense anymore that bloggers are using to gain followers and I refuse to buy followers like everyone else is doing. I just need to keep reminding myself that I blog because I like to and if Instagram isn’t my strong point then that’s okay (I like Pinterest better anyway…)
Now onto a lighter note…Valentine’s Day is 14 short days away and if you didn’t notice I added a Valentine’s Day tab on the top of my blog! I love your blog and Instagram content! I might be out of the loop and not sure what you mean by the Algorithm change but I’ve been a loyal follower on Instagram for some time now and love everything you post (makeup up, outfits, manicures). I love that you aren’t one of those bloggers who constantly does Selfies, because that gets old quick! But your content is never boring, it’s honest and genuine! And that makes you more unique than anyone else so keep up the great work!
