February is just over a week away and before we know it Valentine’s Day will be here! Whether your single or taken it’s fun to add a few festive touches to your home to get ready for the holiday! I’m not talking about red heart placemats and your typical cheesy Valentine’s Day decorations, I’m talking about a few romantic touches that will instantly elevate your home decor and add just the right amount of romance without going overboard.
Hands down my favorite way to add romance to a room is with candle light! Whether it’s the living room, dining room, bedroom or bathroom the addition of candles will instantly make the space feel more inviting. My favorite style of candles are large white ones like you see in these photos because even when they’re not lit they look amazing! You don’t even necessarily need candlesticks, some thrifted plates to catch the melted wax would be perfect! This is hands down the best affordable way to up your decor game for Valentine’s Day!
Next up, flowers! Don’t wait around for someone to buy you them, head to the store and grab a few different bunches to make your own arrangement. Play with different heights, colors, vases and make the bouquet truly your own. Draw inspiration from these photos and step out of your comfort zone!
Like I mentioned in my Cozy Winter Home Decor post, adding comfy, cozy pillows and blankets to the bedroom and living room is one of the ways I transition my home from Summer to Winter and this tip definitely comes into play when it comes to decorating for Valentine’s Day. While I love the idea of going out to celebrate the holiday, my favorite way to celebrate it is curled up on the couch (don’t you agree?)
Dying to add a few hearts to your Valentine’s Day decor? I love the idea of hanging them from your curtain rod in front of your windows like this! They match the rest of this comfy cozy room perfectly!
The most romantic decor of all…soft lighting, candles, a fuzzy rug and a bubble bath (champagne optional…scratch that…champagne essential!). Do you add any special touches to you home to celebrate Valentine’s Day?
