Manicure of the Month: Gold Glitter Star Nails

I shared these gold glitter star nails on Instagram, but I wanted to share it on the blog too so you can pin this mani inspiration for later! Back to these gold glitter star nails…I’ve gotten a lot of questions about them since posting them on Instagram so I wanted to share ALL the details! I’ve been getting UV Gel (some salons call it hard gel) for about a year now. If you’re not familiar with it, it’s a thicker gel that goes on top of your real nails, it’s cured under a UV light and then gel color is applied on top. Unlike a regular gel manicure you don’t soak these off when you’re ready for a new manicure, your nail tech will use the electric file to buff off the color and a little bit of the UV Gel and another coat is applied to each nail to “fill” the regrowth. On average I get my nails done every 4 weeks!

For this particular manicure Nail Spa Elmsford filled my UV gel and then we used this gold glitter star gel polish to finish! It took 3 coats of gel polish to get this look and Kelly made sure to separate the stars in the polish so they spread out evenly on each nail!
