2013 Spring Decorating Trends

Home decor trends are a lot like fashion. Things can change quickly, but the classics always remain. When looking at the trends, there are probably some things you like, and there are probably some you don’t. As in fashion, just because something is popular or “trendy” doesn’t mean its right for you. Trends are definitely fun to look, so”pin” a few ideas and try to incorporate them into your home. 

Among the many predictions for home decor trends for 2013, color, pattern, texture and all things circular seem to be the most popular. Here is some of my favorite inspirational photos illustrating the trends of 2013!

Color

Try saturated neutrals with splashes of bold color.

Pattern

Bold geometric prints are easy to layer with solid and texture.

Texture

Can add dimension to a room by doing this in layers, such as fabrics, wallpaper, floor coverings & finishes. In the photo below the wallpaper adds texture then layering the decorative mirror and table adds interesting finishes and shapes to the entry.

Like getting a new haircut or adding a few Spring pieces to your wardrobe, redecorating is about making a change. Change can be done in small doses like adding some pillows in a trendy pattern or on a larger scale like changing the wall color or adding wallpaper to a room.
