If you asked me a week ago what Transitional Style Decorating was I wouldn’t have had a clue. But when I asked my mom to describe the style of her Christmas decorating the first word she used to describe it was “transitional.” Of course, I looked it up and after reading the definition she was absolutely right. Also, I don’t know why she wouldn’t be, she IS the interior decorator after all. So, her decorating style is transitional! For all of us who don’t know what that means here’s a crash course: “Transitional style is a marriage of traditional and modern furniture, finishes, materials and fabrics. Also, the result is an elegant, enduring design that is both comfortable and classic.”
Transitional Christmas Living Room Decor
Last week we talked about Christmas decorating in small spaces and today my mom is taking over to share her story about decorating her small space. She just finished renovating her home so she can enjoy entertaining with out being separated from her guests. Also, they opened up the wall between the kitchen and the living room, added a counter with stools so there is more seating and gained an open plan. But now they have no room for a Christmas tree and she will not have a Christmas without one. Here is how she got creative and scaled down her Christmas decor all while still creating the perfect atmosphere to get you in the Holiday spirit!
