I’m back with another post reviewing my favorite beauty products from the past month! I hope you like in depth reviews, because this month I went a little overboard and really went into detail on why I love these 10 products so much, but hey that’s why you’re here right! So without further ado here are my favorite beauty products from October…
My Favorite Beauty Products from October 2017
e.l.f cosmetics Liquid Highlighter $4 c/o
Not going to lie I’ve had this product for a few months and I just wasn’t sure how to use it so it got pushed to the back of my makeup drawer. Then I was talking to a couple of girls that I went to e.l.f. Beauty Scape with and they told me they mixed a few drops of this with their foundation for a more dewy, glowing finish and I HAD to give it a try! My skin has been looking pretty dull lately and mixing this liquid highlighter with my foundation has made such a difference! I’m sure you can use this as actual highlighter too (but I prefer powder highlighter), but I highly suggest mixing a drop of two in with your foundation (or tinted moisturizer or BB cream), you can thank me later.
L’Oreal Infallible Paints Eyeshadow in Cool Ivory $8.99 c/o
I’m not usually a fan of cream eyeshadow, but L’Oreal nailed the formula on this one. I’ve been using this duo pretty much every day to highlight my eyes with just a touch of shimmer and I love it. I just add a dab of sparkle on my lids, inner corners of eyes and under my brow to catch the light.
Clarins Face Contouring Palette $42 c/o
I’ve used this palette on and off for a few months, but because I took a few short trips over the past few weeks I’ve been packing products with double duty to lighten my bag and this is one product that I’ve taken with me every time. The bronzer is my absolute favorite, but the blush can be a little potent so apply it lightly when you use it.
Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Strong Treatment $2.84 c/o
Not only has my skin looked a little dull and dry lately (must be the weather change), but my hair has too! So I’ve been deep conditioning my hair pretty much every time I wash it. Most deep conditioners require you to leave the product in your hair for a long time, but you only need to leave Aussie’s 3 Minute Miracle in for…3 minutes! Super easy and it leaves my hair feeling WAY healthier.
e.l.f cosmetics Heart Defensor Highlighter Palette $8 c/o
I hate that this is currently sold out, but I just couldn’t not mention it with this month’s favorite beauty products! This highlighter may have just debuted, but I’ve actually known about it since March when I went to elf Beauty Scape! I met @thatsheart there (she is the sweetest person ever!) and she revealed that she’d be collaborating with e.l.f. cosmetics on an exclusive highlighter! I can definitely tell you that it was worth the wait. I’ve been mixing both of the colors together and it’s literally blinding! In my opinion e.l.f. cosmetics makes some of the best highlighters on the market and if you haven’t tried any of them I highly suggest giving them a chance!
Revlon Ultra Volume Mascara & Dramatic Definition Mascara $8.49 each (But right now you can Buy 1, get 1 at 50% off!) c/o
I’ve talked about these mascaras before and have worn the Ultra Volume Mascara in pretty much every makeup post I’ve done for months, but I never thought to combine them until now. My lashes were looking pretty lack luster after taking my eyelash extensions off in early September (scroll down for more about that) and basically needed a miracle mascara to get my lashes to look good so I layered two of my favorites for the ultimate combination! First I apply two good coats of Ultra Volume Mascara, then I used the Dramatic Definition Mascara to separate. Perfect Combo!
100% Natural Boar Bristle Body Brush $4.95 (Amazon Prime eligible)
If you’re not dry brushing you need to be. My skin has been particularly dry lately, and I’ve been getting a lot of annoying little red bumps on the backs of my legs and since I picked back up dry brushing I’ve seen a huge improvement. I’m not sure why I stopped, probably just laziness, but sticking with it makes a huge difference. If you’re not familiar with dry brushing you can read my whole post on it here, but essentially it’s “dry brushing” the dead skin off before getting in the shower! It’s great for keeping skin moisturized, circulation and even reducing the appearance of cellulite.
oVertone Pastel Pink Deep Treatment $28 c/o
I’ve been getting a TON of questions about my pink hair and I plan on doing a full post about it, but in the meantime I wanted to share the product I used with all of you! oVertone isn’t a hair dye, it’s a color depositing conditioner. Basically all you do is wash your hair, apply the conditioner to the areas you want colored, wait 10-15 minutes and wash it out. THAT’S IT! They have pretty much every color available, and each color comes in 3 intensities.
My hair is pretty light to begin with so something like this worked really well, but if you have really dark hair I don’t know what the results would be. Check out the oVertone website and Instagram, they have a TON of photos of what colors look like on all shades of hair! It was so helpful when I was debating adding pink to my hair, this photo is what made me ultimately decide!
RevitaLash Advanced Eyelash Conditioner $50-$155 (depending on what size you get)
So I mentioned above that my lashes looked a little lack luster after my last set of eyelash extensions and truth be told is a lot of my lashes fell out. I didn’t do anything different from the first time I got eyelash extensions (I had them on for almost 6 months that time), but this time they got really twisted and bothered me a ton, I actually couldn’t wait for them to come off. Maybe it was because it was summer and they were getting wet a lot more than last time, but either way once they were off I knew I needed to do something to grow back my natural lashes fast.
I’ve always been afraid of using lash growth serum like Latisse because of the horror stories about it turning blue eyes brown, but I did a little research and decided to give RevitaLash a try. It’s definitely expensive, I suggest purchasing the smallest container like I did, to make sure you like it and that you don’t have a reaction to it (plus even the little tube lasts a long time, I’ve used it for almost two months and I’m not done yet). I’ve used it every night for about a month and a half and I’ve noticed a HUGE difference. My lashes as SO long and they are filling back in beautifully. Definitely going to continue using it indefinitely. I’m all about the lashes and this product is a huge win for me!
So have I convinced you to try one of my favorites? Make sure you tag me or leave a comment if you do! Looking to read about more of my favorite beauty products check out my July, August or September posts!
