Layering clothes isn’t anything new or groundbreaking, but it can be so much more fun and creative that just adding a coat to a look. Today Megan and I thought it would be fun to put our own spin on the layering game and show you 2 blogger approved ways to layer your outfits this Spring! Since the weather has been extremely temperamental in New York (and most of the East Coast), we haven’t quite been able to wear all our Spring favorites because it’s just too cold. We both picked up new dresses (shop Megan’s floral print dress & my gingham dress), but wearing them on their own didn’t work so we improvised!
I went the less daring layering route, so instead of topping off my look with my go-to denim jacket I grabbed this chambray shirt instead. I kept my outfit casual choosing to pair this combo with sneakers and a cross body bag creating the perfect Springtime exploring look. And if you’re out and about and get hot, you can just take off the shirt!
Megan outdid herself and layered this awesome retro dress with a pair of cropped denim. I never thought I’d like the “dress over jeans” look, but when it works it works and I LOVE the way this looks on her. I think it’s really all about proportions and the tiny bit of volume on the bottom of the dress created the perfect fit over her straight leg denim!
When you’re trying to make the most of your Spring clothes, but it’s not warm enough to truly break them out yet it’s fun to experiment! I hope these blogger approved ways to layer inspired you to explore your closet and pair things together you might not have thought of before!
