Does anyone else feel just the tiniest bit guilty buying new Summer clothes at the end of the season? I used to, but this year since I’m headed to Hawaii I’m ignoring my conscience and picking up a few warm weather things because who doesn’t want new stuff to pack for vacation! But I do have a couple rules when it comes to end of the summer purchases…
My Rules for End of the Summer Purchases (or really any end of season purchase!):
- The item is timeless. A cotton seersucker dress, white linen pants, the perfect black swimsuit. All things that I would consider perfect end of the summer purchases! While I might not be able to wear them right away, I know that come next Summer they’ll still be in style and I’ll probably wear them to death!
- It’s on sale! At this point in my life I’m all about filling my closet with versatile, well made, quality items and those things often come with a high price tag that I just can’t quite justify sometimes. So when something I’ve been eyeing that may have been a little out of my price rang before goes on sale and checks off all the boxes, I’m definitely adding it to my cart.
- I’m able to wear it for more than one season. I added quite a few flirty midi skirts to my closet this summer (2 in the last few weeks alone) and I’ve been wearing them now with crop tops, but I can’t wait to wear them later with chunky sweaters and boots!
