For years I struggled to find wide enough boots to fit my dancer calves and after tons of research, a lot of trial and error, and a little bit too much shopping I’m happy to report that I think I’ve finally found the best wide cafe boots on the market! Whether you’re a curvy girl, have an athletic build or just struggle finding boots large enough to wear with your favorite skinny jeans this is a list you’ll definitely want to check out. From inexpensive trendy styles to high quality boots you’ll have in your closet for years, there’s something for everyone!
Looking for an inexpensive pair of wide calf boots? JustFab has a TON of affordable options – from flat to heeled, knee high to over the knee, faux leather to suede and more! If you’re interested in picking up a trendier style boot than it’s better not to spend too much money (and if it goes out of style in a few months you won’t regret the purchase). This slouchy knotted black pair and burgundy quilted pair are styles that I love and at under $50 each I can totally justify the purchase. Join JustFab here & get 20% off your first purchase!
Naturalizer is my pick for the best wide calf boots on the market right now. Every single pair of boots they make come in both regular calf and wide calf options and they are extremely well made. They are moderately priced at around $200 a pair, but when you think about how much use you’ll get out of these classic styles it justifies the price. Their riding boots in cognac and black are my favorite, but they are slowly but surely expanding their selection. I just got the cognac Harbor boots and haven’t stopped wearing them (see them here). The color is perfect and the small block heel makes them different than all my other riding boots. I’m also eyeing these sleek OTK boots as my next purchase. I’ve been looking for a moderately priced over the knee wide calf boots and these are exactly what I was picturing.
If your calf is a little bit bigger than most wide calf boots fit then you’ll definitely want to look for a pair that have elastic panels. The elastic strip allows for the boot shaft to stretch a little bigger to accommodate your calf. These black Jessica Simpson tall boots (that also come in brown & gray) & this cognac Steve Madden riding boot (also available in black) are my favorites. They’re under $200, real leather and will comfortably fit calves that are larger than 17″.
Tired of boots that don’t fit like a glove? Ted & Muffy is the ultimate boot brand because rather than offering your standard wide calf options, all of their styles come in an array of calf and width sizes so your boots are guaranteed to fit you perfectly. They aren’t cheap, but you have to look at them as an investment piece that are made with highest quality materials by the best designers. I have a pair of OTK black suede heeled boots that were made with my specific measurements and it was honestly one of my greatest fashion purchases (see them here). These gray OTK chunky heeled boots & luxe black riding boots (that are both available in 10 different calf widths) are on my dream wishlist!
Now that you know my picks for the best wide calf boots I want to know what your favorites are! Leave me a comment and let me know if I left any off the list or if I can help you find the perfect pair for you!
