You live in a world of color, and color preferences are very personal. Color combinations with which you feel most comfortable will make up your unique signature palette. Rich, deep hues are serious, upbeat combinations are welcoming and youthful colors are cheerful.
What mood do you want to convey in your home? Your individual color scheme should reflect not only the color you like but also say something about who you are.
Light colors will generally make a room feel larger. Light colors with warm (red, yellow) undertones will make it feel a bit cozier than those with cool (blue, green) undertones.
Furniture can add color and texture to a room also. Ottomans that double as coffee tables, cushioned footstools and large pillows that transition from sofa to floor are a few suggestions.
Use accessories. Colorful candles, trays, vases & plants!
Mirrors are wonderful light reflectors, so place one across from a window to brighten and expand the space.
Window treatments. Don’t forget to dress your window. Whether it be sheer panel or a valance, having window treatments really finish and add color to your room.
By following these few, simple suggestions you can make your home warm and inviting.
