The Best Shorts for a Pear Shaped Body

I love clothes…no surprise there, but there’s one article of clothing that I absolutely fucking hate…shorts! I’ve pretty much tried every single style over the years, hope for the best and then after one or two wears I swear off them again. Here’s the problem, I have an extremely pear shaped body. My waist is a size 8 (sometimes a 6), my hips are closer to a 10/12 and don’t even get me started on my thighs! When I find a pair of shorts that fit my waist they are basically cutting off the circulation on my legs, and when I find a pair that fit my hips and thighs they are giant in the waist which causes them to ride up as I walking making them as uncomfortable as ever. And I’m SO tired of reading articles that say that knee length Bermuda shorts are the best for pear shaped girls….THEY’RE NOT…they’re probably one of the least flattering styles of shorts ever and need to just go away.

Now that I’ve done my research and tried pretty much every single style of shorts out there and I think I can confidently say I’ve finally found the best shorts for a pear shaped body! All this time I was always trying on shorts in more durable material that held it’s shape, like denim, when I should’ve been looking for lighter, more flowy materials!

These flowy, lightweight shorts with a similar shape to a skirt (smaller in the waist with more volume in the hips), are a game changer! Of course I waited too long to shoot and post these so this particular pair is sold out, but I’ve found a TON of similar styles, which means retailers are FINALLY catching on that these are the best shorts for a pear shaped body and I’m sure lots of other shapes too!

If you have a similar shape to me I suggest looking for shorts that are fitted in the waist then flare out. I also love the fact that these shorts have a zipper in the back which takes out any bulkiness in the front and I love the bow detail that accentuates my waist! Also can we talk about this bag and these sandals! Aside from me finding the best shorts for pear shaped bodies, I’ve also found the BEST summer accessories! I unconsciously threw all my current favorites in one outfit and somehow it worked out! I’ve been eyeing these wrap up sandals for a while and when I found them in blush pink I pulled the trigger and I’m so glad I did. They might not seem like a neutral, but them 100% percent are and are so perfect for Summer. As for this bag, Deux Lux sent it over last month and I haven’t stopped using it since. I’ve been on the hunt for a new white Summer bag and this one definitely fits the bill. It’s roomy, but not bulky and doesn’t get dirty at all.
