Christmas nails are my FAVORITE nail art designs to get. And after last year’s Christmas Sweater Nails I wasn’t sure how I was going to live up to that design!
I literally did an entire blog post filled with 50+ of the Best Holiday Nails I found on Pinterest just to help me get an idea. And I was still stumped on what holiday nail art to get.
Candy Cane Nails
Then I found a photo of these candy cane nails on Instagram and immediately knew this manicure design was “the one”. While it’s not nearly as intricate as last year’s holiday nails, it’s understated and sparkly and festive and perfect!
I always feel the need to go with a festive color like red or green during December. And it’s not the holidays without a little bit of sparkle. So I felt like this candy cane French manicure design was the perfect combination. And the silver glitter nail polish is SO sparkly is going to be hard to forgo the glitter for my January New Year’s manicure next month!
You may have noticed I’ve been getting a lot more manicures that consist of a neutral base color topped with a nail art design closer to the tip of my nail like you see here with these Candy Cane Nails. (And also with Neon Orange Halloween Nails, Blue Marble Nails, etc.) This is very much an intentional choice!
With hard gel (some salons call it UV gel), I only need to get my nails done every 4-5 weeks. And you can imagine that by week 3 I have a little bit of regrowth. By getting a nail design with a nude base it allows for the regrowth to be a little less noticeable until my next appointment.
