Why would I share one fun outfit when I can share TWO fun outfits with a bunch more outfit ideas?! So Megan & I are teaming up a few times a month to share some of our favorite seasonal looks with you. This week it’s all about how to dress up your jeans!
I don’t know about you, but my go-to outfit in the Winter living in New York is a sweater, jeans and boots, and while it’s a classic combo that will never go out of style it’s a bit boring sometimes. I work in an office with all men and since I can get away with wearing pretty much anything it’s really easy for me to fall into a style rut, so I’m forcing myself out of it and pushing my own boundaries today with this fun, trendy weekend denim look that is super appropriate for Winter and will keep me warm and stylish!
Ways to Dress Up Your Jeans This Winter
You might remember these ASOS embellished jeans from back in November (see how I wore them here)! For today’s look I actually drew inspiration from that outfit and made these light wash jeans a little more seasonally appropriate! I traded in my silver pumps for silver booties (these are amazing guys), and then completed my look with a leopard faux fur jacket, an item that’s so on trend for Winter (a faux fur coat is always in!), and a fun crossbody bag with a fur handle.
Megan on the other hand when a completely different direction with her look! She paired her distressed ASOS jeans with items that are almost completely opposite to mine, keeping it classic with a red coat, beret and turtleneck, but then “Megan”ed it up with the cutest printed socks!
Both of our looks are so different, but also on trend!
But I’m not done! Not only am I sharing these 2 cute outfit ideas, I’m also sharing a bunch of tips to dress up your jeans that will hopefully help you get ready for the cold weather.
All Black Everything
Everyone has a favorite pair of black jeans right? Next time you pull them out pair your favorite black jeans with a sleek black turtleneck sweater a pair of leather or patent leather boots and a great belt!
Street Style Inspired
I’m sure it’s no surprise to you, but I get a lot of inspiration for my outfits from street style photos that I collect on Pinterest. The outfits I’m seeing all over include slouchy high waist mom jeans, old school sneakers like Vans or Converse, knit sweater and a classic, slightly oversized knee length (or longer) wool coat.
Don’t Forget to Accessorize
While a pair of jeans is a great base to any winter outfit, a cold weather look isn’t complete without some accessories! My favorite items to add in the winter include knit hats, chunky scarves, mittens and of course a great bag!!
Just Add Boots
Jeans, boots and a coat are an instant winter outfit in my mind! Whether you’re pairing one of your favorite pairs of straight leg jeans with ankle boots and a classic Winter coat or a pair of skinny jeans with a chunky knit sweater and sleek knee high or over the knee boots, a great pair of boots can complete any look and is an easy way to dress up your jeans this winter.
While trends change by the year, these tips will never go out of style. All you need to do is tweak my suggestions so that they work with whats currently in fashion. And as always – wear what you what!! Just because something isn’t on trend, if you love it, wear it!
