This time of year everything is GREEN! The flowers are in full bloom, the vegetable gardens are starting to produce and the lawns and trees are rich in color. Whether you’re walking in the park, the farmer’s market or even your own backyard enjoy the greenery…and get inspired!
Green is a very easy color to work into your decor. To start there are many shades of green, such as yellow green (the color of an avocado) and blue green (the color of the ocean) and so many in between. Green is a cool color so it is common to see it used in warm weather areas, but don’t let that stop you from using it, it can be incorporated into decorating in any climate!
Green works very well with the color red because they are complementary colors, two colors that are opposite on the color wheel! For more information on decorating with Complementary Colors check out our full post here! (Believe me pairing red and green together isn’t just for Christmas!)
You can also mix it up with orange and violet. These three colors are triad colors which means they are three colors equally spaced from each other on the color wheel! For more info on decorating with Triad Color Schemes check out this post!
It’s nice to understand why colors work so well together, but if you take a look at a field of flowers you can see why it’s so easy to use the color green to decorate with.
Give it a shot, your friends with be “green” in envy!!
