The Holiday Season is QUICKLY approaching and don’t tell Halloween, but it’s kinda my favorite time of year. Ok I lied…from October 1st to January 1st is my favorite time of year because it’s filled will all the best holidays. And we’re not friends if you disagree.
more specifically I have 2 favorite parts of the Holiday Season:
- DECORATING – duh!! Decorating for the Christmas and the entire holiday season is my FAVORITE! Christmas trees, wreathes, lights, all of it just gets me so excited!
- PARTIES AND DINNERS WITH ALL MY FAVORITE PEOPLE – I love a party, especially during the Holidays! I love dressing up and eating and drinking and just seeing everyone that’s “home for the holidays”. It genuinely just makes me so happy and puts a smile on my face.
And today’s post about Modern Holiday Tablescapes combines both of my favorite parts of the Holiday Season – decorating and entertaining!!
Even though I have a small 1 bedroom apartment I do NOT skimp on the decorating or the entertaining. And while my dining room table has seen a lot of action over the past few years I actually haven’t done too many actual holiday tablescapes, or tablescapes in general…until now!!
I don’t know about your family or friends, but mine tend to gather around the table. Which means that the tablescape basically serves as the backdrop for pretty much all the photos. And sometimes it’s just as memorable as the food!
So today I’m sharing a roundup of 3 modern holiday tablescapes that I created in my apartment that hopefully you can use as inspiration for your holiday table for this year and beyond! And make sure to check back throughout the holiday season because I’ll definitely be updating this post and sharing lots more decorating ideas!
3 Modern Holiday Tablescapes
My overall decorating style is modern, eclectic, Parisian inspired and slightly bohemian. I’m not afraid of color or pattern and I like my home to feel “lived in”. So these 3 modern holiday tablescapes definitely reflect my personal style, but if your style is more minimalist or farmhouse or rustic there are easy swaps you can make to my holiday table ideas that will make them more cohesive with your style and aesthetic.
Fall Florals Tablescape
I’m a sucker for using a gorgeous bouquet as a centerpiece to a tablescape any time of the year and the color palette of fall flowers is my absolute favorite. Vibrant greens and jewel tones like pink and purple really set the tone for this first holiday table.
I know traditional Holiday colors are green, red and white BUT since Christmas isn’t the only holiday people celebrate I figured this fall florals tablescape would be something more appropriate for a November party. So I drew inspiration from the flowers for the napkins and kept those in the same color palette of burgundy, rust, emerald and light pink! I fell in LOVE with these scalloped napkins from Drew Barrymore’s line at Walmart and I know I’m going to be getting a lot of use out of them.
I finished off the table with these simple votive glass candles and gold candle holders to make it extra dreamy!
Pumpkin Themed Thanksgiving Tablescape
It wouldn’t be the Holiday season without a pumpkin or two (or ten)! I’ve been collecting ceramic and glass pumpkins for a few years now and tend to scatter them all over my apartment during Halloween and Thanksgiving, but thought why not cluster them all together to create a pumpkin tablescape!
This table is giving me major modern farmhouse chic vibes with the gold flatware, various pumpkins and ceramic pitcher vase filled with eucalyptus!
I used the same scalloped napkins as the floral tablescape except I swapped out light pink for navy for a moodier feel and folded them as rectangles and placed them under the dishes to act as a placemat.
Now let’s talk about these black and white geometric dishes! WOW just WOW! That’s literally all I have to say! The quality is amazing and the bold pattern is just stunning. I truly think without this dinnerware set these tablescapes wouldn’t look half as amazing! A great dish truly makes the table.
Glam Metallic Christmas Table Setting
Now it wouldn’t be Christmas without a little bit of sparkle in my house! I’ve been collecting these bottle brush trees for a few years and was able to add a ton more to my collection thanks to Walmart and couldn’t resist creating a sparkly glam Christmas tree village centerpiece!
If glitter isn’t your thing a fun alternative to mini trees would be ornaments!! Get a bunch of different size Christmas ball ornaments in whatever color scheme you like and arrange them as your centerpiece with some fairy lights!
Once again I used the same plates, flatware and glasses as the other 2 tablescapes and this time I switched up how I laid the napkins! I think this is a fun way to display cloth napkins if you don’t have napkin rings!
If you look at all 3 holiday tables you’ll see that I essentially used the same plates, napkins and flatware from Walmart and just swapped out accent pieces so creating the perfect holiday table doesn’t have to break the bank.
