The Holiday Season is officially here and if you haven’t started decorating yet ITS TIME to pull the decor out of storage!!!
Normally I start decorating for the holidays right before Thanksgiving, but this year I’m getting a head start on my Christmas decorating, but not without a trip to Target first!
Target Holiday Decor
Holiday decorating can get pretty expensive, but over the years I’ve slowly but surely honed in on my holiday decorating style and have built up my collection of decorations and you should do the same. You don’t need to get everything at once and it’s totally ok if your style changes over the years (mine definitely has), but I think that’s why it’s so important to go in with a plan! Assess what you already own, save some inspiration on Pinterest and then start shopping!
Target has some of the BEST Holiday decor this year (and every year) and I just couldn’t resist sharing my favorites with you guys! I, of course, bought a lot of adorable and really affordable items that you’ll definitely see throughout the season, but since I know everyone doesn’t have the exact same holiday decorating style as I do I wanted to create a post sharing holiday decor for all interior design styles!!
1
If your decorating style is more on the traditional side with hints of rustic farmhouse, think knit stockings, classic red and white and pops of greenery then you’ll love Hearth & Hand with Magnolia (Joanna Gaines can do no wrong!)
2
If you’re style is more bright, cheery, colorful and eclectic then you’ll want to browse the Opalhouse with Jungalow Collection. Think lived-in spaces that feel cozy, wild and free and you can elevate your holiday spaces with colorful accents that seamlessly match your style.
3
If you’re more of a neutral decorator then you’ll love Threshold with Studio McGee. Their pieces will help make your home feel inviting with a soothing color palette and holiday decor, think calming neutrals paired with rich, warm tones!
4
And lastly if your style is more eclectic and quirky or if you’re looking for more fun, kid friendly decor then Wondershop is for you!
Target has everything from Christmas trees (I got my slim Christmas tree from Target), garland, stockings, candles, advent calendars and everything in between! The #targetdoesitagain hashtag is a thing for a reason…they kill it again and again and again!
SHOP my Favorite Target Holiday Decor:
Christmas Trees & Tree Skirts
As I mentioned above I got my Christmas tree from Target 5 years ago and she is still perfect! My apartment isn’t the biggest so I love that they had a variety of slim Christmas trees that still look full and lux! Obviously not everyone is looking for a slim tree and Target has something for everyone. From trees under 4 feet and over 8 feet, even tabletop trees Target has it all.
Once you get your tree, now you need a tree skirt! I actually don’t own a tree skirt, so I had a lot of fun rounding up my favorites for you (and me) to shop! I really love this dark red quilted velvet skirt & this hammered metal Christmas tree collar!
Stockings & Stocking Holders
“The stockings were hung by the chimney with care” and even if you don’t have a chimney or a mantle, you still need a stocking! I’m partial to a classic red, green and/or white, but Target has great options no matter what your holiday decorating style is.
Target also has a ton of stocking holders! I saw this Lit Village Stocking Holder while I was shopping for Target Holiday decor in-store and while it’s not really my style I couldn’t wait to share it!
Ornaments & Tree Decor
Target not only sells a plethora of single ornaments, ornament sets, glass balls, specialty ornaments and everything in between, BUT if you’re decorating a tree for the first time and need it ALL or are looking to completely change up your tree theme Target also sells all-in-one sets that make decorating your tree so easy!
Wondershop has so many great themed set like the “Gingerbread Playhouse” set, the “Pink, Ivory and Brown” set and the “Dark Blue and Silver” set just to name a few! I picked these Pink, Burgundy and Gold glass ornaments up last year and love them.
Ornaments aren’t the only thing your Christmas tree needs, you need lights & a tree topper! I’m partial to a star, but Target has plenty of other options! I bought mine from Target a few years ago and I love how easily it attaches to my tree!
Tabletop Decorations
Target makes the BEST indoor Christmas decor! Decorative trees, figurines, villages, nutcrackers, nativity scenes and more! I’m partial to all the decorative tabletop trees, I’ve built up quite the collection of bottle brush trees and this year I added a few different sized glass trees to mix in with those.
Target also has the most adorable small metal car and truck figurines with trees and presents, you’re definitely going to have a hard time picking just one! They also have so many vintage inspired reindeers and houses that make great additions to your tablescape or mantle.
Wreathes & Garland
It’s not the Holiday season without a wreath or two. I’m always for hanging 2 every year, one real wreath (because who doesn’t love that fresh evergreen smell) and one artificial one. Target has a few fun ones like gold leaf, faux fur and flocked!
Garland is THE universal holiday decoration, it can used anywhere. You can put garland on your tree, your mantle, your table, pretty much anywhere!
Throw Pillows & Blankets
Honestly I’ve never been one to switch up my throw pillows or blankets for more festive options during December, but my mom always does and I love the way she seamlessly incorporates them into her decor. Target has so many great pillows with snowflakes, trees and more from Opalhouse with Jungalow.
