Ever since I moved into my own apartment a few years ago I’ve had the urge to decorate for every single holiday. I obviously go all out for Christmas, but when you live in a small space with limited storage you have to get creative when it comes to decorating for other holidays! I’m not really into the super cheesy typical Valentine’s Day decorations, but who doesn’t love the idea of romantic floral candlelit table decorations!
Whether you have plans on February 14th or not it’s still fun to get in the spirit! I suggest you break out your prettiest plates, create a gorgeous custom floral arrangement by picking up a few different bunches at the store, grab a few candles and set your table. You can even get creative with tablecloths and placemats by heading to your local craft store and picking up a few yards of fabric. Whether you’re single or taken, live alone or with you significant other, putting together a festive tablescape is the perfect way to decorate for Valentine’s Day without going overboard.
The best part about decorating for Valentine’s Day with fresh flowers and candles is that they require no storage after the holiday is over! Flowers obviously die and candles either be left on your table all year round or can be moved somewhere like a coffee table or end table. Your kitchen or dining room table is a blank canvas and you should be taking advantage of that clean slate and decorate it every chance you get!
