I know what you’re thinking…”Is she wearing ANOTHER yellow dress?” And the answer clearly is YES, because yellow is the color of the year, BUT today’s post isn’t another one professing my love for all things Yellow (you can see those posts here, here and here), today’s post is ALL about the ultimate summer accessory…the jean jacket.
To say I’m a huge jean jacket fan is an understatement, if there was a jean jacket fan club I’d be the president. They really are the ultimate summer accessory and pretty perfect for all the other seasons also. They go with literally EVERYTHING, you can layer them or wear them alone, they’re pretty much indestructible (I swear they look better with age) and they’re timeless. I wear mine with dressy outfits to make them more casual AND I wear it with leggings and sweats to make myself look more put together. I’m going to go out on a limb and say this jean jacket is possibly the most versatile piece in my whole wardrobe.
If you already have a jean jacket in your closet give yourself a pat on the back and start wearing it with everything! If you’re on the hunt for the perfect one here are my tips to look out for when you’re shopping:
- Go for a slightly relaxed fit. Make sure there’s room in the sleeves to be able to wear a long sleeve shirt or sweatshirt under, and make sure you can actually button it (even if you never do!)
- Pay attention to the color. I would opt for a classic blue in a slightly worn in state, you’ll get the most wear out of something that’s versatile.
- Check the length. For your first jean jacket I would pick something that hits you right around your belly button or right above your hips like mine does.
Gap, Old Navy and Madewell make some of my favorite classic jean jackets at all price points, so I rounded up those + a few more I found while browsing for you to check out!
