Spring has sprung, but my home is definitely still in winter mode! Today I’m sharing 7 ways to get your home ready for Spring so that by the time the snow melts and the warmer weather finally arrives you’ll be ready! Whether you’re looking to redecorate for the change of season or just do a little refresh these 7 tips will definitely help!
How do you get ready for Spring?
Personally I do a little bit of Spring cleaning my closet and a little bit of shopping (check out my Spring Capsule Wardrobe if you need a little clothing shopping inspo!) and then I do the same for my home…a little bit of Spring cleaning and a little bit of shopping and sprucing up! And since Spring time is all about the outdoors, fresh air, spring rains and blooming flowers, so I use that as my inspiration.
7 Ways to Get Your Home Ready for Spring
Spring Clean
Spring cleaning is common knowledge and not something that needs to be included in a blog post about getting your home ready from Spring, but I don’t just mean your average weekly dusting and sweeping. I’m talking opening up and windexing those windows so that fresh air and light can flood your home, touching up any wall or trim paint that may need refreshing, cleaning light fixtures (check out my hack) and maybe adding a few clean smelling candles or essential oils to your space! There’s nothing better than a bright, clean home to welcome a new season and warm weather. This is also the perfect time to change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

Add Flowers and Greenery
New life is growing outside so why not bring it inside your home. A simple way to refresh your home is with fresh flowers. Picking up a new vase (or two) to display your blooms will give you even more of a reason to pick a new bouquet up every week.
Don’t forget flowers aren’t the only greenery you can add to your home, why not get a few plants too? I’m the worst when it comes to keeping plants alive, but it’s my mission this year to find one perfect for me…in a stylish pot of course!

Rearrange Furniture
Rearranging the furniture you already have is the most inexpensive way to get your home ready for Spring! I know we don’t always have a budget to redecorate, but rearranging can make old things new again! I suggest swapping the throw pillows that you keep in your bedroom with the ones in your living room, possibly moving your couch and living room furniture around or even just using a stack of books from your bookshelf as coffee table decor! There are endless ways to get creative with this option. Just take a peek around your own home and open your eyes to all the possibilities!

Refresh your Beddingย
Looking to add something new to your home for Spring? My first suggestion would be new bedding! There are endless options, but I would suggest something lighter like a coverlet or light weight comforter! I’m seeing a lot colorful floral patterns for Spring and bedding would be a great way to add this trend to your home. I know some of you are probably thinking your husband wouldn’t go for floral bedding, but if it’s done correctly he won’t mind…or even notice!

Change out your Pillows and Window Treatments
Changing out the fabrics in your home is a great way to freshen up a tired room and get it ready for Spring. Replace “winter” fabrics like velvet, wool and flannel, for more light weight options like cotton and linen. My favorite thing to do is add white gauzy linen curtains to all my windows, it instantly brightens up my space and adds a lightness to the space.

Embrace Colorย
I’m sure your Spring wardrobe is filled with pastels and bold color and floral prints so why isn’t your home? It’s time to ditch the dark and embrace color. Easy ways to incorporate color are through artwork, coffee table decor, pillows, blankets, tablecloths and more.

Decorate with Wallpaper
Looking for a more extreme Spring refresh why not wallpaper a room in your home with a vibrant print? It may seem intimidating, but I promise you won’t regret it. You can do multiple rooms, one room or even just one accent wall in a room!
