Back with my FOURTH Capsule Wardrobe…this time it’s a Spring Capsule Wardrobe from H&M of course! It took me a little longer than usual to put this together because honestly it’s a little cold still in New York. And I still haven’t even swapped out my Summer and Winter clothes yet if you can believe that. (It’s on the agenda for this weekend!)
This H&M Spring Capsule Wardrobe it’s a GOOD ONE! I kept it under 30 pieces (many of which I’m sure you already own variations of) and also gave you 48 outfit ideas. I’m ready to pack away my sweaters and layers (well most of them at least) and this Spring Guide definitely reflects that! Lots of dresses, pretty sandals, straw bags and more and also all very wearable. In fact, I ordered a few of these items and I can’t wait to get them and wear them again and again! All of these items will also work perfectly in the Summer too!
When I shared my Winter Capsule Wardrobe last season someone asked if I could also make one of these for Madewell, so stay tuned because I’ll be making a bonus mini Capsule of items from Madewell next! So if you have any other stores you’d like to see Capsule Wardrobes from let me know!
Affordable H&M Spring Capsule Wardrobe Items:
1. Short Linen Dress ($34.99)
Buying your first short dress kind of signifies kick off the warm weather and this blue printed dress is IT for me this year! I love the pattern and the shape is so fun. This is definitely a piece that can be dressed up with an on-trend platform heel or down with a denim jacket & sneakers (both of which you’ll see in the outfit ideas portion of this post) and once summer hits you can even wear this as a swimsuit cover up!
2. Halterneck Chiffon Dress ($69.99)
Who doesn’t love a romantic maxi dress and this halter, ruffle-trimmed, floral one is on the top of my list! The neck is giving me major, modern Bridgerton vibes. And also it can easily be dressed up or dressed down.
3. Pleated Wrap Dress ($69.99)
This feminine, airy dress is Spring perfection and exactly what your closet is missing. I also love that it can be worn on it’s own or layered with a sweater or jacket over it to highlight its pleated skirt! Also if you’re headed to a Spring wedding this is the perfect dress!
4. Button-Front Dress ($29.99)
This button-front midi dress is giving me major 90s vibes. And the good type of 90s vibes (not bucket hats and cargo pants.) In fact, I definitely had a dress like this in the 90s and this one is calling my name! And I’m also a sucker for anything with a slit so I love this one a lot.
5. Sleeveless Jacket Dress ($49.99)
This tailored jacket dress is polish, back to the office perfection and a great addition to your work (or play) wardrobe this Spring!
6. Wide Cut Lyocell-Blend Pants ($59.99)
Relaxed fit, wide-cut pants have been on my radar for a while and I think they would be a great alternative to your basic tailored “dress pants” for Spring & Summer! They’re polished, yet relaxed and can also be worn with a heel and blazer just as easily as they can be paired with a crop top and sandals!
7. Mom High Ankle Jeans ($29.99)
It wouldn’t be a capsule wardrobe without a pair of jeans and H&M makes one of my favorite pairs of mom jeans so I included this classic in my Spring Capsule! I have these in multiple washes and they have just the right amount of stretch, are extremely comfortable and are beyond affordable!
8. Wide Leg Linen Blend Pants ($24.99)
These are giving me major Coastal Grandma vibes (if you don’t know what I’m talking about look it up) and I’m so here for it. They’re relaxed and comfortable and warm weather perfection!
9. Linen Jersey Tank Top ($14.99)
Sage Green (actually every shade of green) is the color of the year and this linen tank top is the perfect addition to your wardrobe if you’re not quite sold on the trend, but want to try it out! I have this tank in 3 colors and its the BEST so I’m definitely picking up this color this season.
10. V-Neck Blouse ($12.99)
I need a new white blouse every Spring to last me through the warm weather months and this one is light, airy and perfect for this year! It can be dressed up with a skirt or tailored pants or dressed down with jeans. And if white isn’t your thing this top also comes in black, blue and a fun pattern.
11. V-Neck Cardigan ($19.99)
While I would love to say cardigan season is over, it’s definitely not yet. This soft, lightweight sweater is a great option while its still on the cooler side and for upcoming chilly nights! It comes in this white and a really pretty creamsicle color!
12. Oversized Denim Jacket ($39.99)
Every closet needs a denim jacket and while I’m sure you have one already I figured I’d include this one just incase you don’t and to show you how many ways you can wear it with these items!
13. Cotton T-Shirt ($5.99)
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, but H&M has the best basics! They’re plain tanks, cotton tees and basic long sleeve shirts are the best! They’re so soft and comfortable and insanely affordable. I pick a new white one of each up every year and don’t feel bad about tossing it at the end of the Summer.
14. Crop Sweatshirt ($12.99)
I was raving about H&M sweatshirts a few weeks ago over on Instagram and honestly I can’t count how many I own. Like the t-shirts, they are the BEST! So soft, comfortable and affordable! This cropped one with a cute embroidered “smile” on it is a great piece to wear with everything from skirts to shorts to jeans!
15. Beaded Sweater ($19.99)
While I despise the fact that it’s still sweater weather in NY I’m less upset about not being able to put my sweaters away when they’re as cute as this light green beaded one! It’s still functional and will keep you warm, but the color is perfect for Spring.
16. Slip On Sandals ($34.99)
I am OBSESSED this these slip on heeled sandals that you’re seeing everywhere this year! The heel is just high enough and they are so chic! I recently got a similar pair from Target.
17. White Sneakers ($17.99)
Classic white sneakers – a staple in my closet and a staple in my capsule wardrobes! No explanation needed!
18. Wedge Heel Espadrille Sandals ($34.99)
Looking for a Spring and Summer shoe that’s not an open-toe sandal? This is the perfect shoe for you! I love that they are canvas with a braided jute trim around the soles which makes them summery! But I also love that unlike traditional espadrilles they have an ankle strap with a buckle as opposed to a wrap ankle that you tie!
19. Dark Beige Slides ($24.99)
How chic are these slides? I honestly couldn’t believe they were H&M as they look WAY more expensive than they are and are a great addition to your closet.
20. Braided Waist Belt ($19.99)
Wide belts are back and this braided style is one of my favorites because you can wear it at any place on your waist. And also don’t have to worry about adding any extra belt holes!
21. Triple Strand Pendant Necklace ($12.99)
Who loves the look of layered necklaces, but hate having to actually layer them? Then this is for you!
22. Hoop Earrings ($9.99)
I’m seriously loving hoop earrings and these are so unique and a fun addition to any outfit this season.
23. Straw Shoulder Bag ($34.99)
Can you tell I’m really loving this light green color this season? It’s truly everywhere and I’m so here for it. It’s flattering on every skin tone and a great way to introduce a little bit of color to you wardrobe. And it’s surprisingly wearable and goes with pretty much every outfit I included below.
24. Cream Shoulder Bag ($6.99)
A cream bag is a Spring & Summer essential and I promise that you’ll have a hard not not pairing this one with just about every outfit!
25. Straw Weekend Bag ($29.99)
I treat myself to a new straw tote bag every season and this one might be it this year!
