If you haven’t noticed I’ve been REALLY into ombre lips lately. I don’t know if it’s because I’m so indecisive about what color lipstick I want to wear or if I just like the idea of wearing more than one shade at a time, but one thing I am sure about is the fact that I LOVE the way they look! Maybelline was kind enough to send me their entire line of Color Sensational Shaping Lip Liners and the second they arrived I knew exactly the kind of post I wanted to do with them!
There are many ways to do an ombre lip, butย today I’m sharing the easiest most fool proof way I’ve done it! Combiningย two shades (or more if you’re feeling daring) of lipliner with a sheer lipstickย on top, is the best way to ensure a bold lip with the perfect ombre fade! Shades I used:
Maybelline Color Sensational Shaping Lip Liner in Wild Violets and Pink Coral
Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Color in Born with It
Step 1:
Take your darker lip liner shade and liner the outer portion of your top and bottom lips.
Step 2:
Color in the inner part of your top and bottom lips with the lighter colored lip liner. You may need to add more of the darker color too.
Step 3:
Take a sheer similar colored lipstick and apply over your lip liner. I would suggest dabbing on the color or applying it with your finger to blend so there are no harsh lines.

This is such a fun idea! I had seen a gif of this on Instagram from a makeup brand but they didn’t do a good job of explaining how to make it happen in real life. This tutorial was perfect, and I love the Maybelline colors you used! I could see rocking this on date night to draw a little extra attention to my lips…..
