Let me just tell you…taking up close photos of my face like this with no makeup on was scary! Everyone has their insecurities and while I think I do have pretty good skin I definitely have imperfections like hyper-pigmentation on my cheeks and forehead, large pores on my nose with blackheads that will never go away and redness. I’m very diligent when it comes to my skincare routine and try to get facials a few times a year, but sometimes it’s just not enough, so when SkinForum offered to send me their new 6 Step At Home Facial in a Box I was all in!
SkinForum offers 3 facial in a box combinations depending on your main skin care concern – Hydration, Lift + Firm or Detox + Radiance! Usually I’m all about the hydration, but I went with Detox + Radiance because I know the summer is coming and I’d like to be able to wear as little face makeup as possible on a daily basis so I wanted to get my skin in tip top shape.
Scroll through to read how easy this 6 step at home facial is to do on yourself and the amazing results I got from just one treatment!
Step 1: Magic Cleansing Cloth
So the first step to any facial is obviously cleansing the skin. I took a shower before starting my facial, but I was surprised how much more clean my face felt after using these cleansing wipes. Each pouch come with 3 circular wipes. You’re directed to use one on your entire face (including your lips) wiping in an upwards and outwards motion. Once your face is clean place the remaining 2 wipes on your eyes for 1 minute then gently wipe your eyes until all of your makeup is gone.
Step 2: Gentle Exfoliating Swab
Before step 2 I placed a steamed towel on my face for 1 minute to open up my pores, this is an optional step and not required, but since I have large pores on my nose I opted to do it. Once you’re done with the towel, it’s directed that you use the exfoliating swab from pouch 2 to gently wipe your face from the center outwards concentrating on areas with accumulated dead skin cells, like the forehead, nose and chin.
Step 3: Advanced Soothing Toner
I don’t know if you can tell that much in the photos, but this soothing toner really works! I mentioned above that I tend to get red easily and if you look at the photo above, then at the photo below my nose looks significantly less red and irritated! Toner is often a step I skip in my regular skincare routine, but after seeing the effect this one had on my skin, it’s making me thing I need to use something like this on a daily basis!
Step 4: Sheet Mask
I may look like a crazy person in this silver sheet mask, but I can’t even explain how hydrated, plump and radiant my skin looked after I used it. I mean just look at how different my skin looks from the above photos to the shots below, you can actually see the hydration. This silver coated mask contains green tea extract, niacinamide (great for skin restoring) and fruit extracts and actually creates a shield against toxic urban environment and helps lock in moisture. It’s suggested to leave the mask on for 15-20 minutes and to pat any extra product into your skin once you remove the mask. You can also pat your skin with a cool damp cloth before step 5 to close your pores.
Step 5: Super Serum
Now it’s time to revitalize and restore your skin with a vitamin rich super serum. Start by putting a drop on your ring finger and gently applying it onto both eyes in a circular motion, then only your entire face starting in the center and working outwards. I suggest letting this sit on your skin for a couple minutes so it’s really absorbed before the last step!
Step 6 : Repairing Cream
Last, but not least, its time to repair and renew your skin with SkinForum’s Power Repairing Cream. All you have to do is put a couple dots on your face and massage the cream into your skin. That’s it!
I’m not one to call my skin radiant, but after using SkinForum’s 6 step at home facial in a box my skin looked radiant and glowing and super hydrated. It honestly hasn’t felt and looked that good in a really long time. Even when I put on makeup later in the day, not only did everything go on so smooth, but my skin literally glowed through it. I can’t recommend this product anymore!
Just a few more facts about SkinForum’s line of facials in a box, they are ALL formulated without parabens, synthetic colors, mineral oil, petroleum, chemical sulfates and phthalates.
