I just going to say it…this month has been a complete shit show. I don’t know how the shortest month of the year somehow felt the longest, but it did. And even though it felt the longest I didn’t feel like I got ANYTHING done. AKA why there’s been a serious lack of posts on the blog. I may not have put out that much content this month, but I did try LOTS of new beauty products and I’m here to report on 7 new beauty products I tried and LOVED this month in today’s new post! We’ve got a little bit of everything in today’s post, skincare, haircare, makeup and an awesome magazine cover featuring Katy Perry just because! So read through and let me know what you think about this month’s picks and if you would give any of the new beauty products I tried a chance!
Clarisonic Deep Pore Cleansing Brush $27 – This is literally the SOFTEST Clarisonic Brush I’ve ever bought! My face tends to get red really fast when I’m using a cleansing brush so I’ve always stuck with brush heads designed for sensitive skin in the past, but something made me grab this one on my last Ulta visit and I’m so glad I did! It’s so soft and I swear it leaves me less red than the ones made for sensitive skin! Read all about why I couldn’t live without my Clarisonic in my My Favorite Beauty Products of All Time post.
Paula’s Choice Perfect Cleansing Oil $25 c/o – I’m a huge fan of using cleansing oil to remove your makeup. I think it breaks it down the best and leaves your skin super smooth before cleansing. A lot of people are afraid to put oil on their face for some stupid reason (using oil isn’t going to make your skin oily!), but I can’t recommend it enough! I suggest massaging it onto dry skin to dissolve your makeup and then washing it off with water and following with a regular cleanser. (On the Paula’s Choice website they also offer a sample of this for only $1!)
Masque Bar Rose Gold Foil Peel Off Mask $7.99 c/o – I went to Masque Bar event a few weeks ago and I went home with all of their new metallic masks! I love sheet masks, but let’s be serious peel off masks are way more fun! This rose gold foil peek off mask is suppose to aid in purifying, moisturizing and soothing your skin and it definitely lives up to its claim. I was a little red after peeling all of it off, but that’s normal for my skin and by the morning I looking really refreshed! The only place I found this online right now is CVS, but I suggest checking your local CVS & Target! These peel off masks come in 2.37 oz tubes like I’m showing here, but they also come in single use packets and pre-filled pods!
IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream Illumination SPF 50+ $38 – Okay so everyone’s been raving about this new CC Illumination Cream so I knew I had to give it a try! I’ve been using IT Cosmetics products for years and was intrigued by this new one. My skin is pretty dry other than the area around my nose so over this option was way better than the original formula, but I definitely needed a little more coverage on my nose. I wouldn’t consider this a full coverage foundation, but definitely a fuller coverage CC cream. Really liked the way it looked on my skin, BUT I think I’ll get much more use out of it in the summer when I’m looking for less coverage. And the fact that it has SPF 50 built in is just amazing!
DevaCurl Curly Mini Transformation Kit $12 – If you have curly hair and you’re not using some sort of shampoo made for curly hair you’re doing it wrong! My hair used to be super curly as a child and into my early twenties, but drastically calmed down for a few years, now all of a sudden it’s back to being crazy curls and I knew I needed to switch up my products. I used DevaCurl products religiously in the past and decided to buy the mini pack for curly hair to try them back out before I bought the full size bottles. They’re just as good as I remember and they are hands down the best smelling products on the market. One thing I will say is that your hair has to get used to the “no-poo”, it doesn’t lather and I definitely have to wash more often when I use it (regularly I wash my hair ever 4 days, but when first using this I have to wash it ever 2-3 days).
Bare Minerals Barepro 16-Hour Full Coverage Concealer $24 c/o – I’m about to make a really bold claim right now…this may be my favorite concealer I’ve EVER tried! I know I recommend a lot of concealers and products in general to you guys BUT this stick is amazing. I picked it up during NYFW at a PR event and I’m so obsessed. It’s the perfect consistency, creamy and easily blend-able, but at the same time doesn’t crease or budge or smudge once it’s on. It’s full coverage and great at hiding my under eye darkness and it’s overall just perfect! I honestly couldn’t recommend it enough! It just may have made my list of Favorite Beauty Products of All Time, and I don’t add products to that list without REALLY REALLY loving them!
Rimmel London Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Liner in Nude $3.37 (when you make a purchase of $25+) – I’ve never been a fan of putting black liner on my waterline (unless I’m doing a super smoky look), but I have always loving brightening up my eyes with a light colored reflecting pencil. I usually do white, but I just picked up this nude liner and I like it way better than the white I always use! It instantly makes you look more awake and brightens the whites of your eyes! I’m a huge fan!
