If you follow me on Instagram then you know that I did a BIG beauty clean out this month and not only did I finally get rid of products I didn’t like, but I rediscovered products that I was really excited to receive, but never got a chance to try! My May Beauty Essentials are a mix of old favorites and new products that I’m just obsessed with! I’m all about sticking with the products I love, but I always tell people that you’ll never find those products that you love if you don’t try out a few new ones first!
e.l.f. cosmetics Brush Cleaner Wipes $3 – These are just about the greatest invention EVER and I’m not sure why every single beauty brand isn’t making them! Cleaning your makeup brushes is essential for multiple reasons, number 1 clean brushes make applying makeup so much easier, number 2 clean brushes are way more hygienic and number 3 because applying makeup with a dirty brush can cause a million and one problems like infections, acne…the list goes on and on. BUT I will admit that I don’t clean my brushes nearly as often as I should. Now in between cleanings I just wipe my brushes off on these individually packaged wipes. And the best part…this package of 10 is ONLY $3!
The Lip Scrub by Sarah Happ $24 – I have the driest, most flaky lips ever in the winter and during the spring allergy season. Not only are they super unattractive, but they make putting on lipstick, especially all my favorite matte liquid lipsticks a nightmare! I’ve tried a LOT of different lip scrubs, but this one is hands down my favorite. It lasts forever, doesn’t dry out and really gets the job done.
e.l.f. cosmetics Moisturizing Lipstick in Orange Dream $3 – It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of e.l.f. cosmetics, they’re super affordable, great quality and cruelty free among other things! I’m constantly finding new favorite products and this lipstick is one of them. I own a bunch of their moisturizing lipsticks, but this orange shade is new and a new favorite of mine! Orange lipstick may be intimidating to some, but so flattering and fun once you find the perfect shade for you. This is definitely a bold option, but I promise you won’t regret it! Stay tuned later this week because I’ll be sharing a tutorial with it!
e.l.f. cosmetics Aqua Beauty Molten Liquid Eyeshadow $4 – Another new e.l.f. favorite is these Molten Liquid Eyeshadows. These babies definitely live up to their name, they are literally metallic liquid shadows that doesn’t crease and deliver the most amazing color payoff. They come in 6 shades all of which are amazing and you can’t beat the price.
Bliss Fabulous Makeup Melt Off Gel-to-Oil Cleanser $28 – I don’t usually have a problem taking off my makeup with my normal face wash, but sometimes when I’m shooting photos and wearing a little more makeup that usual and false eyelashes I want something a little more heavy duty. For those times I swear by this gel to oil cleanser! I know a lot of people are skeptical of face oils, but you should absolutely not be afraid! All you do with this cleanser is massage it into your dry skin with dry hands and once you think you’ve really worked it in you wet your hands and face and all of your makeup literally melts off!
Bliss Daily Detoxifying Facial Toner $26 – For some stupid reason I haven’t been using a toner for the past year or so. Don’t ask me why, but I just haven’t and after using this bliss one for the past few weeks I’m kicking myself for not finding it sooner. This toner doesn’t dry out my skin (like most do) and actually leaves my skin feeling moisturized after using it. Plus I’ve really noticed a difference in the pores on my nose since I added it to my routine.
Jergens Natural Glow Face Daily Moisturizer with Sunscreen $9.99 – I know I’m mentioned it on the blog before, but in case you’re new here, while I love a nice healthy tan, I’m super aware of protecting my skin from the harmful rays of the sun and I’m all about sunless tanner. In the past I’ve been way too scared to try sunless tanner on my face, but after trying this new Jergens product I’m all about it! This moisturizer is a gradual tanner so there’s literally NO way you can mess it up. I’ve been using it every morning under my makeup and I’ve pleasantly surprised at the subtle glow it’s been giving me…plus it has SPF 20 in it so I’m killing two birds with one stone! LipSense Long Lasting Liquid Lip Color – I’ve jumped on the LipSense bandwagon and I’m SO glad I did. You guys I’ve tried a LOT of lipstick, like a lot a lot, and even the ones that claim their long lasting and waterproof just aren’t. But these absolutely are! I’ve worn both of these literally ALL day – at work, drinking, eating, etc. – and by the time I get home it’s still on and looks like I just applied it! Right now I have the shades Blu-Red and Apple Cider but I definitely plan on picking a couple more up! I order from a friend of mine (here’s her InstagramInstagram if you’re looking for someone to order from), but I’m sure you all know someone who’s selling it! It’s definitely not inexpensive, but it’s 100% worth it I promise!
Sarah Jessica Parker Lovely Sheer $23.29 – I’ve been wearing the same scent for a few years and when I ran out last month I figured I would switch it up. I’ve had this SJP scent for a while and now that I’m using it daily I like it even more than when I first got it! It’s light and not overpowering and perfect for Spring and Summer!
WanderBeauty Glow Getter Mist $28 – I’m ALL about the facial mists. After getting hooked about a year ago I literally don’t know how I survived without them. They set your makeup all while delivering the perfect dewy glow, plus they feel amazing and hydrating. This new one from WanderBeauty is actually illuminating and gives a glow better than any other brands I’ve tried! I’ll definitely be using this one all summer!
