Before & After: My Home Office Nook Upgrade

So it’s funny, when I moved into my apartment I actually got RID of the desk I had because I thought I wanted a sleek glass desk that disappeared in my space. Fast forward a year and that desk did anything but disappear, I feel like since it didn’t really meld with the rest of my decor it stuck out more.

Luckily the silver and glass desk that I was using when I moved in I wasn’t something I bought (my mom was getting rid of it so I took it from her), so I didn’t feel bad about getting rid of it, but I was still frustrated that what I thought I wanted didn’t work out. This is a reminder to everyone that sometimes decorating ideas don’t work out and that’s ok.

Before getting rid of the old desk I did a mock-up of what I wanted the entire space to look like (in case you missed it, I’m also redoing my living room…more on that later) and while initially I didn’t want “so much wood” in the space, it was exactly what I wanted in the end.

I was eyeing this desk for a few months, but once Quarantine hit EVERYONE was buying desks since they were working from home, like myself, so it kept going in and out of stock. But I FINALLY got it (ON SALE) and I’m SO happy with the purchase! It fits the vibe I was going for and I can’t wait to see it once the rest of my new furniture comes!
