This past Saturday my friend Liz invited a few of our friends to an event she was holding at Citi Pond Ice Skating Rink at Bryant Park. I heard Ice Skating and immediately said YES!
She works in the Alumni Department at Manhattanville College and is always throwing awesome events, most of which we miss but this one we knew we had to go ((even though we’re not alumni)).
It was literally the perfect day…55 degrees and sunny. Even warm enough to skate without a coat on.

Preparing ourselves to step out onto the ice…note the nervous smiles!
I haven’t been ice skating in years but when I was younger I loved it & even took figure skating lessons. I was actually really good, I don’t know why I ever stopped.

Finally got the hang of it…only took about 10 laps to get comfortable.
The hardest part about it was trying to dodge all the little kids that kept falling. I swear I was more afraid of tripping over a little kid that fell in front of me then I was of actually falling myself!! Definitely the #1 reason why I’ve never gone skating in one of the crowded rinks in the city before…but honestly we had so much fun it was worth it!
Having fun on ice!!
