Full disclosure…I’m not really a yellow girl. So, when I originally saw the “butter yellow” nail trend I scrolled right past it. But then I kept seeing it again and again and again. So, I knew I needed to try butter-yellow nails myself.

I think I shocked every single person that knows me and follows me by getting a simple, by my standards, manicure. However, I absolutely loved it. So, I opted for pastel yellow nails which a chrome top coat and was obsessed. Also, I loved how the yellow shade changed depending on the lighting. Also, while the color yellow usually doesn’t look good on me because of my blonde hair, this pastel yellow color looked amazing with my skin tone. And while I’m sure it will look great on short nails, it’s stunning on longer almond shaped nails like I have here.

If you’re looking for a fun and fresh manicure this Spring season or Summer months this butter yellow manicure is a great choice!
Yellow Spring Nail Designs Inspo
I couldn’t just do an entire blog post on one simple yellow chrome manicure. So, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite butter yellow nails because you basically can’t open Pinterest without being inundated with all things butter yellow! And if you’re really not into the soft pastels, I’ve thrown in a few other different yellow spring nails designs.
Truthfully now that I’ve tried butter yellow nails, I’m not opposed to trying other yellow nail art designs! Maybe next time I’ve go for yellow French tips or butter yellow ombre nails. I could also go crazier and try bright yellow nail design!
Butter-Yellow Nails
The two most popular ways I’m seeing the butter yellow trend worn is either just a classic yellow manicure or a pastel yellow nail polish with a chrome finish. I personally think the addition of the chrome really makes the manicure. However, I know chrome isn’t for everyone and the solid color on it’s own is super chic especially on short nails. It checks off all the clean girl aesthetic boxes, if that’s your style. However, it’s also fun and fresh and different!
I think either of these would be a great choice for a special occasion like a spring wedding, bridal shower or baby shower. It’s the perfect balance of classic and trendy, plus it’s different that everyone’s go to white, pale pink or pastel blue!

Yellow French Tips
You know I absolutely love a colored French manicure and after finding all of these I think the yellow French manicure may be my new favorite! I love every variation of these yellow tips – from a more traditional classic French tip, to a chrome French, French with designs and more. I swear I have so much yellow manicure inspiration after putting together this post that it’s going to be hard not to get yellow nails every time I visit the nail salon.
My top picks have to be the chrome yellow French manicure, I love the way it looks frosted. And the yellow French with rhinestone starbursts, I definitely think I need to recreate that design, it’s one of the best manicures I’ve seen in a long time! I’ve seen it done in a few different colors, but the yellow might just be my favorite variation!

Yellow Ombre Nails
Yellow nails with a gradient effect either in a traditional gradient design where the color fades from tip to base or in an aura pattern where the color is more vibrant in the center of the nail are another great way to try out the butter yellow nail trend. These are trendier versions of yellow nails, yet somehow they still manage to look classic. There’s just something about this sunny hue that makes it so versatile no matter what your nail style is.
Aura nails are one of my favorite versions of an ombre design and I’m completely obsessed with this yellow and pink aura nail art. I’m definitely bookmarking that one for my next vacation nails, it reminds me of my blue and lime green aura nails which to date is still one of my favorite manicures of all time!

Yellow Flower Nail Designs
I couldn’t do a round up of yellow Spring nail designs and now include yellow flower nails! Whether they’re daisies or sunflowers or something in between butter yellow flowers are the perfect design for a Spring manicure. I love how many different ways there are to create flower nail designs now too. You can opt for something more realistic and detailed or something more basic. You can also add the flower designs to all of your nails or just go for a flower accent nail.
I love this idea so much because it really brings me back to getting my nails done when I was a kid and I would always ask for flower nail art. Back in the day that was really the only option for nail art and these flower nail design are a nice throw back to that! I love a nostalgic idea!

Lemon Yellow Nail Art Designs
I couldn’t write a post about yellow Spring nail designs and not include a few manicures with lemon nail art! Fruit nails have been trending for years and they aren’t going anywhere in my opinion. Citrus nails, especially lemon nails, are one of the most popular designs for Summer and I honestly can’t believe I haven’t tried them yet.
If you’re headed on a European adventure this Summer then you definitely need to have lemon nails on your radar. They would be extra perfect if you’re traveling to Sicily so you can enjoy all the most delicious Sicilian lemon drinks and foods with the cutest lemon yellow nails. Just imagine how cute and aesthetic the Instagram photos would be of you holding your limonata or lemon granita with the perfect set of lemon yellow nails!

Have I convinced you to try yellow nails this Spring or Summer? I know they’re not for everyone, but I’m glad I took a chance with them because this simple manicure took me out of my comfort zone and I absolutely loved them!
