BACK with another Affordable H&M Capsule Wardrobe…this time it’s a WINTER Capsule Wardrobe! This one is much more casual than my Fall & Summer Capsule Wardrobes because let’s be serious…we’re all pretty much living in loungewear…even more than the past few seasons because it’s just too cold to go anywhere. But don’t worry when you have to leave the house I’ve got you covered!
So as always I included a variety of outfits – some work-appropriate if in the office, PLENTY work from home appropriate that are put together on top. And also more casual on bottom, lots of outfit ideas with jeans AND LOTS of loungewear looks that are comfy and cozy but you can still go out in.
I picked 25 pieces including three coats, LOTS of sweaters, boots, leggings and more! I’m sure plenty of this stuff you guys already have similar items in your closet. But H&M‘s price point is so amazing that you won’t mind picking up an item or two if you’re missing anything. I’m also LOVING the color palette I chose for this Winter Capsule Wardrobe. It’s filled with warm neutrals and basic blacks with a sprinkle of subtle pops of color and lots of cozy texture. I think no matter what your style is, this winter capsule wardrobe will give you plenty of outfit ideas this season.
I have a lot of fun creating these capsule wardrobes and so far H&M has been the best retailer to use because they have great prices, a variety of sizes. And I love the clothes, but if you’d like me to make one using a different store let me know!!
H&M Winter Capsule Wardrobe Items:
1. Ruffled Blouse ($29.99)
The “going out” top is back and if I never thought I’d be excited about it. But the 2024 version of the “going out” top is much more sophisticated than the 2007 one. And this eyelet embroidered blouse is exactly the type of top you should be reaching for to wear this your jeans this winter. It’s also available in black in case this white isn’t your thing.
2. Rib Knit Boat Neck Top ($25.99)
Boatneck necklines are my one of my favorites and if you love them too then you need this top! But what really sold me on this top was the bright green color!
3. Balloon Sleeved Sweater ($29.99)
A slightly oversized turtleneck should be a staple in everyone’s permanent closet, but it’s especially essential for a Winter capsule wardrobe. This cream one will keep you warm all winter and the color transitions well into Spring.
4. Long Sleeve Top ($7.99)
H&M’s basics are top notch and so affordable! From long sleeves to short sleeves to tank tops they are my go to for any basic layers!
5. Knit Cardigan ($64.99)
Cardigans are still having a moment and this striped black & white one with gold buttons looks luxe and is calling my name. It can be dressed up or dressed down, worn open or closed and perfect for this time of year. If you’re looking for a more traditional relaxed cardigan H&M also has this striped one that I love!
6. Printed Sweatshirt ($29.99)
Just like H&M basics, H&M sweatshirts are also my favorite! They’re so soft, just the right relaxed fit and very affordable! I loved this Blondie printed one!
7. Straight High Jeans ($54.99)
H&M jeans are some of my favorite and these high jeans are one of my favorites! This medium wash is always on heavy rotation in my wardrobe.
8. Wide Leg Pants ($37.99)
I’ve been REALLY into the wide leg silhouette lately and black pair is a great option if you’re looking to add a pair into your closet! They’re pretty inexpensive and they can easily be worn to work or “dressed up”, but can also be worn with sneakers.
9. Jersey Dress Pants ($67.99)
I LOVE khaki green and since everyone already has a pair of black dress pants in their closet I also figured I’d push you out of your comfort zone a little bit with this green pair. And while these are neutral and should go with everything if they aren’t your thing don’t worry…all the outfits I created with these work just as well with black pants.
10. High Waist Leggings ($9.99)
Because loungewear and athleisure just hits different in the winter! But when I wear it I still want to look put together!
11. Pile Lined Biker Jacket ($139.00)
This taupe biker jacket might be my favorite item in this Winter Capsule Wardrobe! It’s sporty, but can be dressed up too and will instantly transform your outfit.
12. Single Breasted Coat ($54.99)
This knee length woven coat is slightly oversized and the cream color is a nice change from everyone’s typical dark coats!
13. Double Breasted Midi Coat ($84.99)
Looking for the MOST CLASSIC winter coat of all time? Look no further than the timeless calf length coat. This will never go out of style and is also a piece of clothing you will never regret buying.
14. Vicose Shirt Dress ($28.99)
Every capsule wardrobe needs a fancy dress and this calf length tie belt dress is just that for my 2024 winter capsule wardrobe. I personally love the black and white pattern because while it’s a neutral it’s still a pop for your wardrobe! You can layer it under a sweater or blazer and you can even wear it open with pants and a top under.
15. Jersey Bodycon Maxi Dress ($26.99)
I love a sleek maxi dress in the winter and this stretch jersey one super chic and affordable!
16. Leather Loafers ($84.99)
It’s taken me a long time to take a liking to the loafer trend, but I’m finally there and this classic pair goes with almost every outfit in this capsule wardrobe.
17. Pumps ($34.99)
The chicest pair of pumps! The low heel makes them really wearable and they’ll go with pretty much every outfit I’ve included here.
18. Sneakers ($34.99)
I love the slightly sporty feel of these sneakers with gum soles and black heel!
19. Lace Up Boots ($54.99)
A lace up pair of combat boots has been a staple in my closet for a few years now, they go with everything from leggings to dresses and they are extremely practical in bad weather!
20. Warm Lined Suede Boots ($149.00)
These padded boots are having a MOMENT this season and I’m kinda loving them! I really never thought I would because they’re not really my style. BUT they have grown on me and not only they really functional they go with so much. In case these are too expensive for you, H&M also has a nearly identical pair for only $54.99.
21. Rib Knit Hat ($12.99)
This soft knit hat is the perfect neutral accessory to all the winter outfit ideas I put together. If you’re not into black, this hat comes in a variety of neutrals.
22. Belt ($19.99)
For under $20 this gold buckle belt should be the first thing you add to your winter wardrobe! It’s so luxe and versatile and will go with everything here & everything you already have in your closet.
23. Chunky Earrings ($12.99)
These chunky gold drop earrings are everywhere and if you’ve loved the style, but have been hesitant on trying out the trend not is your chance now that I’ve found a pair that’s under $15.
24. Crossbody Bag ($34.99)
The smooth faux leather and simple style on this crossbody bag makes it look much more expensive that it is! I will always tell everyone that if you’re going to buy an inexpensive purse choose a simple one! It is instantly more elevated than one with a lot of embellishments!
25. Shopper ($27.99)
What drew me to this shopper was the taupe color, but it’s also the perfect Winter bag! It’ll keep you hands free and holds everything you need for work or play!
