So I’ve officially shared Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer Capsule Wardrobes and today I’m sharing a Holiday Capsule Wardrobe! The holiday season can look a little different for everyone, BUT there are definitely essential items that you can keep in your closet to make dressing for holiday occasions WAY easier!

Holiday Capsule Wardrobe
In case you don’t know a capsule wardrobe is a selection of interchangeable clothing pieces that complement each other and that can be mixed and matched with one another to create many outfits. Typically I select 25 items and create 48+ outfits for my season long capsule wardrobes, but since the Holiday Season is just about 2 months long and I’m downsizing and selecting 15 pieces of clothing and creating 24 outfits.
Some of the occasions I get dressed for during the holidays are Friendsgiving, office parties, tree decorating, cookie baking parties, holiday movie marathon, holiday shopping, ice skating, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Years Eve among other events.
Essential Items for your Holiday Wardrobe:
1. Rhinestone Strap Satin Camisole Top ($17.99)
The “going out” top of the early 2000s is back except now we’re calling it a “party” top and this rhinestone strap satin top is the perfect Holiday party top! It’s flirty and sexy and perfectly festive for lots of holiday occasions! And if you have no idea what I’m talking about you’re much younger than me and welcome to the new era of wearing jeans and a top to go out.
2. Glittery Sweater ($34.99)
A neutral cozy sweater is a must for the cold weather, but since it’s the holiday season I thought a glittery neutral sweater would be the perfect additional to this holiday capsule wardrobe! You can pair it with everything from jeans, sequin skirts, even PJ pants! This relaxed fit option fits the bill perfectly and will get you through the holidays and the rest of the Winter season. It’s also available in light beige if that’s more your style.
3. Beaded Sweater ($29.99)
Another essential for the holiday season is a festive sweater. And I’m not talking about an ugly Christmas sweater (though those are amazing and you should probably have one), but just a festive color sweater that can easily make any outfit a “holiday” outfit, I know what you’re thinking…hot pink isn’t really a Holiday festive color…well according to H&M (and me) this year it totally it.
4. Oversized Satin Blouse ($27.99)
A satin button up is perfect for layering under or other clothing, but also for wearing alone and mixing and matching tons of other items in your wardrobe. I LOVE the way this piece pairs with something sparkly!
5. Single Breasted Velvet Jacket ($84.99)
A slightly oversized classic blazer – say no more, but make it VELVET! During the holidays get more wear out of your outfits by not only adding it to your work looks but also pairing it with jeans and even your party dresses.
6. Slim Regular Ankle Jeans ($34.99)
Now I know that jeggings and skinny jeans aren’t necessarily “in”, but for the holidays I think a classic pair of slim jeans is essential because of their versatility. In a dark wash you can dress them up or down and pair them with everything else in your capsule wardrobe seamlessly.
7. Fringe Hem Sequined Skirt ($39.99)
It’s not the holidays without (at least) one sequin item! I went with a skirt because you can dress it up with an equally fancy top or dress it down with a chunky sweater! And the fringe is SOOO fun and different than any other sequin skirt I’ve ever seen!
8. Tie Belt Satin Dress ($49.99)
Another classic piece (are you sensing a pattern now?) – I can’t imagine a time or occasion where this gorgeous softly draped satin dress isn’t appropriate!
9. Plaid Pajamas ($39.99)
No need to explain this one! Everyone needs a pair (or 8) of festive pajamas in their closet!
10. Teddy Coat ($119.00)
Any cold weather capsule wardrobe wouldn’t be complete without a coat. This teddy one is absolutely a statement piece and it’s just the right amount of oversized It pairs perfectly with everything from sequins and heels to jeans and combat boots!
11. Small Shoulder Bag ($19.99)
This is the perfect bag for all holiday activities! I love the trendy shape and that you can wear it with the chain strap or tuck it in and hold it by the handle. It would be perfect for all your dressed up and dressed down holiday outfits.
12. Long Rhinestone Earrings ($24.99)
Another one that requires no explanation! Party earrings like this long rhinestone ones instantly take any basic outfit and make it elevated! They’re also available in black.
13. Faux Fur Slippers ($12.99)
If you don’t have faux fur slippers put them on your Christmas list! It’s safe to say that I spend more time in slippers than in real shoes during the holidays and you should too!
14. Chunky Combat Boots ($39.99)
Another item I borrowed from my Fall Capsule wardrobe because they’re comfortable, durable, practical and look cute.
15. Pink Pumps with Rhinestone Chain Detail ($39.99)
I usually include a more classic pump in my Capsule Wardrobes, but these hot pink heels with rhinestone details were calling my name and surprisingly they’re pretty versatile! Scroll through to see how many outfits I created with them!
